Shooting some hoops

Park and Recreation sponsor spot shot contest Thursday night

The Iowa Park and Recreation Association and the Webster City Park and Recreation Department sponsored the annual IPRA youth basketball "spot shot" contest on Thursday at Jefferson Gymnasium.

"We had a good turnout with 40 kids participating," Recreation Technician Mark Glascock said. "All the kids did a nice job and hopefully those that qualified for state will do well at the spot shot finals."

Glascock, the youth spot shot coordinator, wanted to thank all of the basketball coaches, athletes and Fuller Hall staff who helped put on the event.

The following kids participated and placed at the spot shot event:

8-year-old girls: Taylor McKinney, Webster City - 1st;

Rylee Woodall, Kamrar - 2nd.

8-year-old boys: Carson Struchen, Webster City - 1st; Tyler Moen, Webster City - 2nd.

9-year-old girls: Haley Flaws, Webster City - 1st.

9-year-old boys: Noah McKinney, Webster City - 1st; Henry Hoversten, Alexander - 2nd.

10-year-old girls: Hannah Mulholland, Webster City - 1st; Lacey Westberg, Webster City - 2nd; Hidie DeGraw, Webster City - 3rd.

10-year-old boys: Jordan Tanner, Webster City - 1st; Cameron Moen, Webster City - 2nd; Logan Danielson, Webster City - 3rd; Tyler Bultena, Webster City - 4th; Lincoln Spellmeyer, Webster City - 4th.

11-year-old girls: Allie Flaws, Webster City - 1st; Kayla Miller, Webster City - 2nd; Sierra Anderson, Webster City - 3rd; Ashley Flaws, Webster City - 4th.

11-year-old boys: Alex Dickinson, Webster City - 1st; Carter Rholl, Webster City - 2nd; Jordan Hartnett, Webster City - 3rd; Lincoln Spellmeyer, Webster City - 4th.

12-year-old girls: Gabrielle Hoversten, Alexander - 1st; Cassidy Bultena, Webster City - 2nd; Mikaleh McCoy, Webster City - 3rd; Chelsey Wagoner, Webster City - 4th; Cayla Villa, Webster City - 5th.

12-year-old boys: Colt Richardson, Webster City - 1st; Jordan Moen, Webster City - 2nd; Trey Woodall, Kamrar - 3rd; Richard Fogle, Webster City - 4th; Jonus Marx, Webster City - 5th; Jordan DeGraw, Webster City - 6th.

13-year-old girls: Lynn Chalfant, Webster City - 1st; Bailey Fogle, Webster City - 2nd; Kady Rehnblom, Webster City - 3rd.

13-year-old boys: Cole Reigelsberger, Webster City - 1st; Sean Robell, Webster City - 2nd.

The top two participants in each age category advance to the state competition to be held March 27 in the Grinnell Recreation and Athletic Center.
